The City of Lexington will hold a Public Information Meeting concerning project RTP-2019-004, known as the Northwest Recreation Trail Phase 2 Project. The proposed trail is being funded through the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the Nebraska Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration.

Construction is planned for the summer of 2020. The project includes constructing a 10-foot-wide concrete trail on the east side of the Optimist Recreation Complex, from 13th to 20th Streets. There are no private property access issues anticipated.

The Public Information Meeting is being held to provide information and receive public input about the preliminary design, the construction process and potential impacts. The meeting is open to the public. Residents near the project are especially encouraged to attend. City officials will be on hand to explain the project and answer questions.
