Library Assistant

The Lexington Public Library is seeking an outgoing person who likes helping people to perform public service duties including registering customers for library cards, checking materials in and out, shelving materials, offering recommendations for the latest books or movies, and answering library users’ questions.  Excellent communication skills and a desire to provide responsive customer service are required.  Must feel comfortable with computers and be able to assist library customers with their basic computer needs including e-mail and navigating the Internet. Bilingual preferred.

Day, evening and weekend hours required.  Averages 15-20 hours per week period.  Applications accepted until position filled.

 

 

Police Officer (full-time)

Certified applicants will be required to complete the department’s field training program. Non-certified applicants will be attending basic training at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center with full pay and benefits. Other qualifications include being at least 21 years of age, a United States citizen, the ability to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed; possess a valid Nebraska operator’s license and have a good driving record; possess a high school diploma or GED. Must be of good moral character; no felony convictions, serious misdemeanors, domestic charges or dishonorable discharge from military service
