Current Job Openings:
The City of Lexington, Nebraska is accepting applications to fill an opening for the position of Police Officer. The Lexington Police Department maintains a force of 21 fulltime sworn officers. Black and white patrol SUVs, patrol rifles, Taser, and on-board computer systems are utilized by the department. Duties of the position are consistent with Municipal Law Enforcement. Salary based on experience.
Qualifications for the position include the following:
- obtain Certification through the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center
- be at least 21 years of age;
- be a U.S. citizen;
- have ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays
- have a high school diploma or GED;
- have a valid Nebraska driver’s license with good driving record;
- have no felony, serious misdemeanor convictions, domestic charges or dishonorable discharges from the military service; good moral character.
A thorough background investigation, Test of Adult Basic Education, and Psychological testing will be conducted. First review will be November 9, 2020.
