Police Officer – full time

The Lexington Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. The Lexington Police Department is a progressive, forward thinking department that maintains a force of 21 full time sworn officers.

Certified applicants will be required to complete the field training program. Non certified applicants must be able to obtain Nebraska Law Enforcement certification within one year of hire date. Other qualifications include being at least 21 years of age, a United States citizen, the ability to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed; possess a valid Nebraska driver’s license and have a good driving record; possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. Must be of good moral character; no felony convictions, serious misdemeanors, domestic charges or dishonorable discharge from military service. A thorough background investigation will be conducted. Benefits include bi-weekly pay, family health, dental, vision and life insurance; paid vacation, paid holidays, sick leave, 7% match retirement, uniforms, full duty gear, and a choice of gym membership. Lexington is close to several state recreation parks including beautiful Johnson Lake.
