Mission: to deploy, fight and win our nation’s wars by providing ready, prompt and sustained land dominance by Army forces across the full spectrum of conflict as part of the Joint Force.

Motto: “This We’ll Defend”
Founded: June 14, 1775, originally named the Continental Army, established to fight the Revolutionary War. It became the U.S. Army June 3, 1784.
The United States Army is the land service branch of the United States Armed Forces. It is the oldest and largest branch of the U.S. military.

The branch participates in conflicts worldwide and is the major ground-based offensive and defensive force of the United States.

The Seven Core Army Values listed below summarize what being a Soldier is all about:
Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. These are the Army Values soldiers learn in detail during Basic Combat Training. From then on they live them every day in everything they do — whether they’re on the job or off.
